VEHICLE CONSIGNMENTS
Auction Dates
Musick & Sons specializes in auctioning government surplus and seized vehicles, however entries from private individuals are always welcome. The auction dates for these auctions vary. Our semi-annual Big Boy Toys auction is one of our largest open entry auctions and occurs every fall and spring. Please call our office to get on the consignment call list or check our personal property auction calendar for a listing of upcoming auctions.
Inspection time for buyers is usually scheduled 1-3 days prior to the auction and the morning of the auction.
Consignment Contract
You will be required to complete a Consignment Contract and show proof of identification upon consigning your vehicle. All known defects must be reported at check-in.
Title
Before the vehicle can be consigned, the title to the vehicle must be registered in the consignor's name and be free of any lien holders. If a lien still exists on the title, the lien holder must agree and give written notice that the vehicle is clear to sale.
If the title is lost, you must apply for a duplicate title. All documents from the DMV verifying the title is being processed in your name are needed to consign the vehicle.
Deadline
All vehicles must be entered into the auction prior to the scheduled auction inspection period. Bring your vehicles in early to take advantage of our advertising and to get more exposure on your merchandise!
Consignment Fee
The entry fee for consigning a vehicle is $100 per vehicle, per auction. The entry fee needs to be paid at the time the vehicle is consigned. The entry fee is nonrefundable regardless of whether the vehicle sells or not.
No Reserves (Minimums)
Musick and Sons does not accept minimum reserve prices on consigned vehicles.
Consignors Payment
If your vehicle sells, a check for the amount of the bid will be paid to the consignor no later than 10 business days following the auction. The consignor will be asked at that time to bring in the signed title in exchange for the check. If the check is not picked up and the title is already in our possession, the check will be mailed to the address provided on the consignment agreement.
Musick and Sons charges a 10% fee to the buyer which it will retain as commission.
Advertising
All consigned vehicles received by the deadline will be posted on the online catalog at www.musickauction.com included with a photograph. Descriptions posted include mileage, vehicle identification numbers, as well as all amenities.
PERSONAL PROPERTY CONSIGNMENT
Auction Dates
Our auctions dates vary, please check our upcoming personal property calendar for a listing of upcoming auctions or call our office at (208) 939-1777. Not all of our auctions are open for further entries, so please check with our auction staff on whether or not we are accepting merchandise. Depending on your what your merchandise is, it will be entered into the auction that will most complement it and bring the highest interest.
Scheduling Your Own Auction
If you have a large quantity of merchandise you need to liquidate and feel you may need to have your own auction please feel free to contact us. Our auctioneers will gladly schedule a time to view your merchandise and give you a free auction consultation.
Consignment Contract
You will be required to complete a Consignment Contract and show proof of identification upon consigning your merchandise. At this time you will be assigned your own permanent consignor number. All known defects must be reported at check-in.
Pickup/Delivery
Depending on the nature, quantity and size of your merchandise, pickup options are available if you are unable to bring the merchandise to our auction location. Please contact our office for the fee schedule and to arrange a pickup time.
Deadline
The deadline for consigning your merchandise to the auction is prior to the inspection period.
Consignment Fee
The entry fee for consigning merchandise varies depending on your merchandise but is no more than 20% (twenty percent) commission. The commission will be deducted from the gross proceeds of your merchandise.
